In response to the alarming rise in reports of child molestation and sexual abuse during the COVID-19 pandemic:
No Child Sexual Abuse events were held for over 120 young people, using the NSPCC-UK PANTS rules to educate and empower.
The Badara Kafaru Foundation set out to the streets and to schools with a strong message against the abuse of young children, trending the hashtag #NoChildSexualAbuse. We sensitized young people and children in the schools, creating awareness about the rising trend of child abuse in the community, while providing them with a safe space to share their experiences and guidance on how to report such cases. It is important that children do not feel alone or unheard, and that we fight unanimously against child molestation in our communities.
The foundation entertained reports from community residents and children and panels were set up to investigate these reported cases of abuse while ensuring that the offenders were brought to book and faced the full extent of the law for their actions.
